The story
Ma Cuisine doesn't hedge. Sitting on Ravnsborggade in Copenhagen's Nørrebro neighbourhood, it describes itself as "unapologetically French" — and means it. The wine flows, the room buzzes, and the staff address you in French. The spirit is that of a genuine Parisian bistro: vibrant, a little chaotic, highly social, and full of personality.
The restaurant's own words put it best: come for dinner, stay because the table next to you started talking to you, someone ordered another bottle, and suddenly it feels like a night in France. That easy, convivial energy is the point.
What makes Ma Cuisine stand out beyond its atmosphere is the pricing. The White Guide — one of Scandinavia's most respected dining authorities — awarded the restaurant its Fine level recognition in 2026, singling out something rare: a six-serving menu offered at 292 kroner, with water adding just eight kroner more. Three hundred kroner, total, for a full menu with something to drink. The guide noted approvingly that "most people can be included" — a philosophy that feels quietly radical in a city where fine dining often comes with a steep cover charge.
Beyond the menu, Ma Cuisine operates several distinct spaces — La Salle, a Private Dining room on Ryesgade, and the more irreverently named Dirty Room — suggesting a place that takes hospitality seriously even when it's being playful. Events are a regular part of the programme as well.
The French bistro experience here is less about white tablecloths and hushed reverence, and more about the pleasure of a good bottle shared with strangers who become friends by the end of the night. That combination of accessibility, genuine character, and recognised quality makes Ma Cuisine one of Copenhagen's most honest dining propositions.
