The story
Wolfgang Zwiener is a name that carries genuine weight in the steakhouse world. With over four decades in the industry and twenty-one restaurants bearing his name globally, Zwiener built his reputation on one uncompromising standard: only USDA Prime Black Angus beef, hand-selected, dry-aged on the premises for 28 days, and carved to order by the restaurant's own butcher. The original Wolfgang's Steakhouse opened on New York City's Park Avenue in 2004, and the Limassol location on Amathountos Avenue carries that same exacting tradition to the Mediterranean coast.
The dry-aging process is central to everything here. Every side of beef is aged on-site until it reaches what the kitchen describes as "meltingly tender and juicy steaks served sizzling hot with a perfectly caramelized crust." The signature cuts — Porterhouse, Prime New York Sirloin, Rib Eye, and Filet Mignon — are the anchors of the menu, complemented by a raw bar and a range of freshly prepared seafood dishes. The setting suits the food: indoor dining, an outdoor terrace, and a semi-private mezzanine room available for private events.
The wine programme at Wolfgang's Steakhouse Cyprus is no afterthought. The cellar has earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for multiple consecutive years — a distinction that reflects both the depth of the selection and the skill of the staff pairing bottles to the steakhouse menu. Bespoke cocktails round out the drinks offering for those who prefer something mixed.
Beyond the Wine Spectator accolade, the Limassol outpost has collected Estia Awards recognition for service, experience, and its standing among international restaurants in Cyprus, as well as OpenTable distinctions for most booked, best service, and best food in the country. For a steakhouse that transplanted a New York institution to a Mediterranean city, the local reception has been clear.
The dress code is smart casual, small dogs are welcome on the terrace, and free parking is available on the premises — practical details that reflect the same attentiveness to guests that defines the dining room itself.
