Casino Helsinki has been part of the city centre fabric for over 30 years, originally opening in 1991 as Casino RAY at the Hotel Presidentti before moving to its current spacious, purpose-built premises next to the Central Railway Station. Today, the address on Aleksanterinkatu places it firmly at the pulse of Helsinki, accessible on foot from the railway station and the nearest metro stop.

The venue operates under Veikkaus, Finland's state-licensed gaming operator, and functions as considerably more than a casino floor. The legendary Fennia Salonki stage has hosted a long roster of Finnish popular culture, while the Sports Bar — with its 30 screens and wide channel selection — draws crowds for major sporting events from football World Cups to ice hockey tournaments. Show & Dinner evenings, comedy nights and live music performances round out a calendar that runs well into the early hours.

The Sports Bar Kitchen

The dining side of the house is anchored by the Sports Bar, where the kitchen serves daily from 3 PM. The menu is straightforward and honest: loaded nachos with grilled Finnish chicken or a veggie NoChicken alternative, buffalo wings from Finnish producers, beer-battered cod with pea purée and house tartar sauce, casarecce pasta with creamy pesto and halloumi, and a sirloin minute steak cut from EU beef with parsley-garlic butter. Burgers are built on a Finnish beef patty in a potato bun, with gluten-free and vegan options available across the menu. The kitchen runs until 11 PM Sunday through Thursday, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Recognition and Standards

The White Guide's 2026 Fine level recognition places Chapter among Helsinki's dining addresses worth seeking out. The venue's commitment to its guests extends to full wheelchair accessibility throughout all public spaces, and a dress code that the house describes simply as "casual but smart" — though, as they put it, you can't exactly overdress here either.

Entry to the casino and Sports Bar is free, with an 18-year age minimum and ID verification at the door.
