The story
Delphine occupies a large, airy space on Vesterbrogade where the ceiling soars and there is genuinely room to spread out. The restaurant belongs to the Cofoco group, and its premise is straightforward: let the art, culture and food of the Mediterranean saturate both the cooking and the atmosphere, without ceremony or pretension. White Guide awarded Delphine its Fine level recognition in 2026, noting the warm, lamp-lit welcome, the impressively mixed crowd — older couples, young families, everyone in between — and the way the room manages, even in the depths of a Copenhagen winter, to conjure something of the Greek archipelago.
The menu draws equally from Greece and southern Italy, two culinary traditions that have been trading ideas for millennia. A large Parilla grill anchors the kitchen, used for whole fish, shellfish, and skewers of meat and vegetables. Oysters come in several dressed versions — Bloody Mary with tomato, celery and ouzo; Bergamot with chili and basil; Grapefruit with black pepper and olive oil — alongside a neutral selection and a chef's choice. From the à la carte, expect tzatziki with Greek yoghurt, cucumber and lemon; grilled scallops with brown butter and chives; crudo of tuna with cantaloupe melon, salted lemon, pistachio and chili; grilled halibut with palm kale and beurre blanc; and grilled lamb with artichokes, tomato, kalamata olives, mint and oregano. Dessert brings a citrus pavlova sized for two, panna cotta with strawberry and raspberry sorbet, and petit fours of Manjari chocolate ganache with Metaxa and pistachio.
For groups of nine or more, a family-style sharing menu covers the table in waves — arancini, sourdough flatbread with crushed tomatoes, tuna crudo, grilled scallops, grilled chicken or ribeye, Greek salad, and panna cotta to finish. The bar pours cocktails by the pitcher, ouzo, easy-drinking wines and cold beer. When the weather allows, the covered pavement terrace extends the Mediterranean mood outdoors. It is the kind of place that works equally well for a long lunch or a noisy dinner — relaxed, generous, and grounded in the genuine pleasures of the southern European table.
