The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

The Spirit Behind the Name

Sogno (pronounced Soñ-yo) sits north of Boston in Woburn on the Winchester Line, and its premise is straightforward: gather around the table the way Italians always have. Owner Ron Martignetti drew directly from his own Sunday family dinners when shaping the restaurant, and that domestic warmth informs everything from the comfortable dining spaces to the tone of service. The goal is simple — come, stay, and return again and again.

What's on the Table

The menu moves across the full breadth of Italian cuisine, from cicchetti and cocktails at the bar to authentic Neapolitan brick oven pizza and entrées drawing on the culinary traditions of various Italian regions. The kitchen describes its approach as chef-driven, and within a year of opening it had already earned local, regional, and national recognition from publications and industry critics.

The wine program is a serious commitment. Curated exclusively from Italian regions and offered by the glass, bottle, or flight, it earned Sogno a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence — a distinction that speaks to both the depth of the list and the care taken in building it. Monthly wine dinners deepen that focus further, pairing multi-course menus with selections from rotating importers and sommeliers, with themes tied to specific Italian regions like the Amalfi Coast.

Dining Formats Worth Knowing

For guests who want something beyond the standard table, Sogno offers two distinct experiences. The Chef's Counter places diners directly overlooking the exposition kitchen, where the culinary team prepares an intimate, curated meal — reservations required, available Sunday through Thursday. The White Linen Experience takes a more theatrical turn: crisp linens, champagne poured tableside, a seafood platter for two, and a Baked Alaska flambéed from a marble-topped cart by the Executive Pastry Chef.

A business casual dress code is in place, and the restaurant asks that baseball caps be left at the door — small signals that Sogno takes the Italian dining tradition seriously without taking itself too seriously.
