Since opening in 2010, Wine Dive + Kitchen has been the place College Hill and greater Wichita turn to when they want serious wine without pretension. Locally owned and operated, the full-service restaurant and wine bar on East Douglas Avenue has built a loyal following on a straightforward promise: quality ingredients, a thoughtfully assembled wine list, and a room where you actually want to spend time.

That commitment to the wine list earned recognition early. For the first five years, Wine Spectator acknowledged the program with its Award of Excellence. In 2016, the restaurant was upgraded to the Best of Award of Excellence — a distinction it continues to hold — placing Wine Dive + Kitchen among a select group of restaurants nationwide recognized for the depth and breadth of their selections.

Sourcing That Shows Up on the Plate

The kitchen takes its ingredient sourcing as seriously as the cellar. The salmon is wild Alaskan Sockeye. Eggs come from local, organic farms. Chicken is natural, antibiotic-free, cage-free, and vegetarian-fed. Most bread is baked locally. The Black Angus beef is sourced from Creekstone Farms in Arkansas City, Kansas — a producer with a strong regional reputation. For an American seafood-forward kitchen, these choices are deliberate and consistent, not incidental.

A Full Day, Done Well

Wine Dive + Kitchen runs from lunch through late night, with Sunday brunch rounding out the week. Happy hour stretches all day on Mondays and through the afternoon Tuesday to Saturday, with a reverse happy hour on Friday and Saturday evenings. Private dining is available for those who want a more contained experience.

The restaurant also hosts ticketed wine events — multi-course dinners paired with focused selections from specific producers, and guided tastings led by winery representatives — keeping regulars engaged and giving newcomers a low-pressure entry point into the wine program.
