Inspired by the beauty of the Hudson Highlands and the stories of those who came before, the inn was thoughtfully restored and brought back to life as a destination for both dining and overnight stays — a rare combination of genuine heritage and present-day hospitality.

The kitchen leans into farm-to-table American cuisine, with a menu that shifts with the seasons. Midweek, the inn offers a three-course prix fixe for $55 — an accessible way to experience the full range of the Bird's cooking on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Sunday evening. Sunday also brings brunch service from 11AM to 3PM, making it a natural anchor for a Hudson Valley weekend. The restaurant has been voted best restaurant in Putnam County in both 2024 and 2025, recognition that reflects a consistent commitment to quality rather than novelty.
