The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Where Whiskey Meets the Table

Warren American Whiskey Kitchen in Delray Beach is built around a simple but ambitious premise: that a world-class whiskey library and genuinely accomplished contemporary American cooking belong under the same roof. The result is something Delray Magazine called a restaurant that "changed the foodscape of West Delray the second it opened."

The centerpiece is the Warren Whiskey Library — a floor-to-ceiling collection of over 1,000 bottles, nearly 600 of which are bourbons. Guests can reserve one of four red leather chairs at the tasting bar, where beverage director John "Fitzy" Fitzpatrick — described in the restaurant's own words as a "spiritual advisor" — guides visitors through the collection. There is no minimum, no fee, and no fixed agenda. Rare single-barrel bourbons, vintage ryes aged up to 22 years, secondary-finished whiskies resting in port, cognac, and rum casks, and the restaurant's own custom barrel picks all share shelf space. The team has traveled to Kentucky distilleries to hand-select barrels and has worked directly with producers like Angel's Envy to create proprietary proofed expressions available nowhere else.

The Kitchen Holds Its Own

The food is not an afterthought. Warren's kitchen has drawn comparisons to some of South Florida's finest tables, and the restaurant's own voice is clear on this point: "the food our kitchen has produced has been nothing short of amazing." The menu moves through lunch, weekend brunch, and supper, with a Happy Hour bar program running daily and an After Dark menu on evenings through the week. The "Damn Good Burger" — finished with a bourbon glaze and a fried egg — earned a mention in The Palm Beach Post's best burgers in Palm Beach County. The wine list earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2024, a recognition that underscores how seriously the beverage program is curated beyond whiskey.

The Experience

Whiskey Advocate named Warren one of America's Top 125 Whiskey Bars in 2024, and Wine Enthusiast has turned to Fitzpatrick for expertise on bourbon and rye. The space is described as "casually sophisticated" — swanky enough for a special occasion, relaxed enough for a weeknight supper. Private dining, live music, and ticketed tasting events with distillery representatives round out the calendar. For anyone serious about American whiskey and contemporary American food in equal measure, Warren is the rare place where both sides of that equation are taken seriously.
