The story
CuVino Trattoria.Pizza.Enoteca is the work of brothers Ralph Di Biasi and Angelo Di Biasi, who have spent their lives around Italian food and wine — first in their father's restaurants, where they both started working at age ten, then in their own. Their mother made fresh pasta and jarred her own vegetables; their father was a winemaker and restaurateur. That upbringing is the foundation of everything on the menu today: authentic Italian cooking prepared, as the restaurant puts it, "as it were prepared throughout the generations."
The name says it clearly: trattoria, pizza, enoteca. The trattoria side covers lunch and dinner with a range of Italian dishes — from bruschetta and calamari capri to veal piccata, duck breast with risotto, baked ziti, and homemade meatballs. The pizza menu stands on its own, with New York–style pies available for dine-in and carry-out. And the enoteca functions as a genuine wine shop, with a reserve list, a curated $30-bottle selection, and monthly wine offers that Ralph and Angelo send directly to their mailing list.
The wine side of CuVino earned the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2020 — a distinction given that year to only 1,387 restaurants worldwide, and a clear signal that the list here is taken seriously. Regular wine tastings bring in guest portfolio managers to pour Franciacorta, Barbaresco, Super Tuscans, and Sicilian varietals, with bottles available at discounted prices for both on- and off-premise purchase. Every Tuesday, all wines are 25% off for carry-out. The enoteca also curates themed four- and six-bottle packs spotlighting specific Italian regions and producers.
Ralph and Angelo are direct about what CuVino means to them: "We are fortunate and blessed to be part of this special community." The restaurant serves lunch through the week, including a $10 business lunch available Monday through Friday, and hosts private events and catering. The Italian cuisine here isn't a concept — it's a continuation of a family tradition that has been building for decades, now shared with Timonium and the wider Baltimore area.
