Perry's Steakhouse & Grille

From a Houston butcher shop in 1979 to a premier steakhouse in The Woodlands — Perry's brings USDA Prime beef and tableside tradition to every table.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

From Butcher Shop to Premier Steakhouse

The story of Perry's Steakhouse & Grille begins in 1979, when Bob Perry opened a modest meat market in Houston. It was a neighborhood operation built on quality cuts and straightforward service — the kind of place where regulars knew exactly what they were getting. By 1986, Bob's son Chris Perry had joined the business and convinced his father to add dining tables, a move that proved immediately popular. That early success gave Chris the confidence to open Perry's Steakhouse & Grille in 1993, and the concept has been refining its approach to the steakhouse experience ever since.

What Comes to the Table

Perry's Steakhouse has built its reputation on USDA Prime beef, and the The Woodlands location carries that standard forward. The room operates with the attentive tableside service the brand is known for — most notably the tableside carving of Perry's Famous Pork Chop, a signature that has become something of a ritual for regulars. Handcrafted cocktails, an extensive wine portfolio, and Perry's Bar 79 round out the experience for those who want to linger before or after dinner.

The wine program earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, a recognition that reflects the seriousness with which Perry's approaches its cellar — not just the food on the plate.

Roots That Still Show

What distinguishes Perry's among steakhouses is how deliberately it keeps its butcher-shop origins in view. The group describes its philosophy as "perfecting prime since 1979," and that continuity is evident in the sourcing standards and the style of service. Across more than two decades of expansion — the brand now operates steakhouse locations across Texas and in cities including Chicago, Denver, Miami, and Nashville — the core commitment to top-quality selection has remained the constant.

The Woodlands location also accommodates private events, exclusive hire, and larger group gatherings, making it a practical choice for business dinners and celebrations that call for a proper steakhouse setting.
