La Strega

Chef Gina Marinelli's inspired Italian restaurant in Summerlin brings old-world charm and modern flair to Las Vegas, with a Wine Spectator-recognized wine list.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Modern, Neighborhood Italian in the Heart of Summerlin

La Strega is Chef/Partner Gina Marinelli's vision of what Italian cooking can be in Las Vegas: rooted in tradition, shaped by firsthand travel through Italy's various regions, and delivered with what the restaurant calls "old world charm, modern flair, and the touch of a Strega." The name itself — Italian for "witch" — hints at the personality behind the place: confident, a little playful, and entirely its own.

Marinelli draws on her travels throughout Italy to build menus that don't settle on a single region. The result is Italian cooking that feels genuinely exploratory rather than formulaic, earning La Strega recognition from both Eater Vegas as a go-to destination for Italian food in Las Vegas, and a place in Elizabeth Blau's essential guide to Las Vegas culinary excellence.

A Wine List Worth the Attention

The wine program earned La Strega a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2022 — a distinction that reflects real depth and curation. The by-the-glass list moves confidently between Italian classics (Barolo from Piedmont, Chianti Classico from Tuscany, Etna Bianco from Sicily) and well-chosen bottles from California, France, and Spain. It's a list that rewards exploration and pairs thoughtfully with the food.

What's on the Table

The menu is organized with a sense of occasion. Antipasti range from Wagyu Beef & Pork Spiedini with spiced ricotta to Salmon Crudo with kiwi salsa verde and charred jalapeño yogurt — dishes that signal an Italian foundation but aren't bound by it. Housemade pastas are a clear strength: Cacio e Pepe made with toasted peppercorns and two aged cheeses, Rigatoni Bolognese with wild boar and 'nduja, and a Crab & Goat Cheese Raviolini finished with white wine butter and green harissa. A "Grandma's Classics" section anchors the menu with Pork Chop Parmigiana and Chicken Cacciatore — honest, satisfying, and done well.

The pizzeria section, Pizzeria Strega, offers wood-fired pies like the Fat Pig (n'duja sauce, four pork preparations, fior de latte) and a Truffle Pesto with sautéed mushrooms and fontina. Signature cocktails — including the house Marinelli Martini, made with smoked olive oil and black peppercorn-infused vodka — round out a bar program with genuine personality.

La Strega is a dinner destination that earns its neighborhood loyalty without relying on the Strip's spectacle. It's Italian cooking in Las Vegas done with real conviction.
