More than two decades ago, Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant made a commitment on Beach Drive in St. Petersburg: to be a place where people gather and share — plates, stories, and sangria. The inspiration was Barcelona, its unhurried rhythms and its deeply pleasurable approach to food. That Mediterranean spirit has shaped everything here since.

The Spirit of the Iberian Coast

The restaurant draws directly from Spanish tradition, translating the convivial energy of a Barcelona tapas bar to the Florida Gulf Coast. The format is inherently social — small plates meant to be passed around, flavors meant to be talked over. Mediterranean cuisine, with its emphasis on honest ingredients and shared abundance, suits St. Petersburg's waterfront pace naturally.

Ceviche is not simply a dining destination. Live music animates the room on a regular basis, the cocktail program runs alongside a wine list that has earned Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, and the outdoor seating along Beach Drive lets the Bay Area evening do some of the work. That Wine Spectator recognition speaks to the seriousness with which the wine and food pairing side of the experience is taken — a fitting complement to a menu rooted in Mediterranean tradition.

A Neighborhood Anchor

Over twenty years of consistent presence on Beach Drive has made Ceviche a genuine anchor of the St. Petersburg dining scene. The no-reservations policy keeps things relaxed and democratic — walk in, find a spot, order a round of plates. A second location is planned for Tampa's International Plaza and Bay Street, opening in 2026, which suggests the model has proven itself worth repeating.
