The story
The story of Perry's Steakhouse & Grille begins in Houston in 1979, when Bob Perry opened a modest meat market that quickly became a neighborhood institution. Seven years later, his son Chris Perry persuaded him to add dining tables — a seemingly small step that changed everything. By 1993, the success of that original shop inspired Chris to launch Perry's Steakhouse & Grille as its own concept, and the brand has grown into one of the country's most recognized steakhouse groups, with locations spanning Texas, Illinois, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee, and beyond.
The Schaumburg location on East Golf Road carries forward everything that built the Perry's reputation: USDA Prime beef, attentive tableside service, and a commitment to quality that traces directly back to those butcher shop roots. The signature experience is the tableside carving of Perry's Famous Pork Chop — a ritual that has become the restaurant's calling card across all its locations. Handcrafted cocktails, an extensive selection of reserve wines, and bar bites round out the offering at Perry's Bar 79, making it equally suited to a full dinner or a more relaxed evening at the bar.
The dining room accommodates private parties and events, and the kitchen handles catering as well, reflecting the group's broader commitment to hospitality beyond the plate.
Wine Spectator recognized the Schaumburg restaurant with its Award of Excellence in 2021 — a distinction that speaks to the depth and curation of the wine program, a natural complement to a serious steakhouse menu built around USDA Prime cuts. Perry's describes its approach as a Rare and Well Done® experience, a phrase that captures both the precision applied to each steak and the overall standard of service guests can expect.
After more than four decades, Perry's Restaurants remains headquartered in Houston and continues to operate with the same focus that defined the original butcher shop: top-quality selection and the kind of service that brings people back.
