Perched above Portland's streets at 900 SW Washington, Bellpine earns its elevated reputation in more than one sense. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the city skyline and, on a clear day, the distant Cascade Mountains — a backdrop that turns especially striking at sunset. Forbes Travel Guide recognized Bellpine in its 2026 recommendations, and the setting alone goes a long way toward explaining why.

Design Rooted in the Region

The restaurant takes its name from a type of marine sediment native to the Pacific Northwest, and that geological identity shapes every design decision inside. Roam Interior Design brought the concept to life with an ocean-themed color palette, modern sculptures drawn from coastal tide pools and rock formations, and a textured ceiling modeled on the underside of a wild mushroom. The result is a space that feels sophisticated without being cold — aquatic in mood, grounded in place.

Oregon's Seasonal Table, with a European Accent

The menu is built around farm-to-table principles, rotating with the seasons to reflect what Oregon's land and waters are producing at their best. A modern European sensibility runs through the preparations: think hazelnut-crusted Pacific King salmon finished with yuzu hollandaise, or teriyaki roasted duck paired with an Oregon cherry salsa. Each plate is composed with the same attention to visual detail as the room around it.

The wine list runs to more than 200 labels, weighted toward regional varietals from Oregon and Washington wineries. The cocktail program follows the same local logic, drawing on spirits from Pacific Northwest distilleries to keep the sense of place consistent from the first sip to the last bite.
