The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A Farmhouse with Serious Credentials

Set inside a 19th-century farmhouse on Route 3 in Plattsburgh, Anthony's Restaurant & Bistro brings together rustic character and refined cooking in a way that feels entirely natural. The exposed history of the building gives the dining room an intimate warmth, while the kitchen turns out contemporary European-American cuisine presented with what the restaurant calls "warm country elegance."

Two Distinct Atmospheres Under One Roof

Anthony's offers guests a choice of settings. The main dining room is the more formal of the two — quiet, intimate, and suited to an unhurried dinner. The Bistro, by contrast, has a relaxed pub feel with a comfortable bar, making it a natural landing spot for a casual lunch or a drink before the evening gets going. For private gatherings, the Gold Room accommodates parties of up to fifteen.

Live entertainment runs on Friday and Saturday evenings, adding a convivial energy to the weekend without overwhelming the room.

The Food and the Bar

The kitchen's focus is contemporary European-American cooking, and the team makes a point of sourcing locally — Anthony's is a member of Adirondack Harvest, a network connecting chefs with regional food producers. Desserts are made entirely in-house, including the ice cream.

At the bar, the cocktail program is built from scratch: shrubs, flavored syrups, and juices are all produced on-site, forming the base of an extensive hand-crafted cocktail and mocktail list. The wine program has earned Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence continuously since 2001 — recognition that reflects a list carefully maintained across whites, reds, dessert wines, and wines by the glass.

Worth the Drive to Plattsburgh

Lunch runs Tuesday through Saturday, dinner seven nights a week. Reservations are recommended throughout the restaurant — a practical detail that also tells you something about how consistently full the place tends to be.
