Celebrated table

Anhelo

Chef Ivan Jacobo's Scottsdale fine dining destination, born from an underground supper club, earns Wine Spectator recognition for its wine program.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A Name That Says Everything

Derived from the Spanish word for "desire," Anhelo (Ahn-eh-loh) is both a name and a philosophy — a call to seek something deeper and more memorable through the act of dining. At this Scottsdale address, that philosophy takes concrete form in a refined, brick-and-mortar restaurant that grew out of something far more intimate.

From Hidden Kitchen to a Destination Table

Chef Ivan Jacobo built his reputation through a coveted underground dining series called Hidden Kitchen, where private dinners were crafted with the same intentionality and artistry he now brings to Anhelo every night. The move to a permanent space didn't dilute that spirit — it concentrated it. For Jacobo, a meal is never simply about food. It is a meticulously considered experience designed to spark conversation, evoke emotion, and create lasting memories through connection and shared discovery.

Seasonal American Cooking, Built for the Table

The menu is seasonally driven and rooted in locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Dishes are designed for sharing — a format that invites exploration and keeps the table alive with conversation. The seasonal American cooking here strikes a balance between creativity and comfort, rotating with the kind of intention that rewards return visits.

Tasting menus anchor the evening: a Petit Tasting of five courses runs Tuesday through Thursday, while the full Chef's Tasting Menu is available Tuesday through Saturday. A $25-per-person deposit is required at booking, and the dress code leans toward business casual — the room carries a sense of occasion that guests are encouraged to match.

A Wine Program Worth Traveling For

Anhelo's wine program earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence, and the cellar reflects why. The team travels internationally each year to seek out both legendary estates and little-known boutique producers, resulting in a list that spans the prestigious and the unexpected. Intimate winemaker dinners — hosted on-site with estate owners from around the world — bring the vineyard experience directly to the table in a way that is genuinely rare.

Cocktails as a Serious Pursuit

The cocktail program matches the ambition of the kitchen. Each drink is described as a bold expression of innovation and craftsmanship — original in conception, precise in execution, and designed to leave an impression well beyond the last sip.

Private Dining and Events

Beyond the main dining room, Anhelo accommodates private parties, large groups, and catering, with options for private chef experiences. The same care that defines a regular evening here extends fully into these settings.
