Caffe Aldo Lamberti

A South Jersey landmark for contemporary Italian cuisine, whole fresh fish, and a Wine Spectator-awarded cellar of over 12,000 bottles.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A South Jersey Institution, Built on Italian Standards

Restaurateur Aldo Lamberti spent much of his life developing his hospitality skills and perfecting Italian dishes before channeling that dedication into what has become one of South Jersey's most enduring fine dining destinations. Over more than 35 years, Caffe Aldo Lamberti has set and maintained a clear standard for what an Italian dining experience should be — and has rarely wavered from it.

The spacious dining rooms are built in a California Art Deco style, creating an atmosphere that feels comfortable without sacrificing elegance. A business-casual dress code signals the tone: this is a place that takes the table seriously.

The Food: Seafood, Pasta, and the Whole Fish

The house specialty is whole fresh fish, delivered daily, and it anchors a menu that ranges across the full breadth of contemporary Italian cooking. House-made pastas — gnocchi, pappardelle, ravioli — sit alongside prime steaks, veal chops, and a raw bar inspired by Aldo's European travels. That bar draws from seasonal Florida stone crabs, Alaskan king crab, and East and West Coast oysters, and guests can build their own customized seafood spread from Aldo's Seafood Harvest platters. Signatures like the Seafood Cioppino (jumbo shrimp, scallops, cockles, mussels, saffron, and lobster broth) and the Capellini Positano with jumbo lump crab speak to a kitchen that treats Italian cuisine as something worth doing properly.

The Wine Program

The cellar is one of the most serious in the region. Sommelier Chris Wanamaker and General Manager George Katsikis oversee a collection of more than 900 selections and over 12,000 bottles in inventory, stored across three temperature-controlled wine cellars — one of which houses personalized lockers for guests' private collections. A glass-enclosed wine room sits on the main level of the restaurant. Wine Spectator has recognized this program with its Best of Award of Excellence continuously since 2008, a distinction that reflects both the breadth of the list and its commitment to price-to-quality value. Annual wine dinners with visiting winemakers and vineyards add another dimension to the program.

Private Dining and Outdoor Spaces

The wine cellars double as private dining rooms, making them a distinctive setting for intimate gatherings. During warmer months, al fresco dining is available on both a patio and a deck — suited to lunch, dinner, or a special event. The full menu, including catering trays, is available for private parties of any scale.
