A Lighthouse on the Hudson

Set inside a free-standing lighthouse at Ossining's Harbor Square — adjacent to the Metro North Station and the NY Waterway Terminal — 3 Westerly Bar & Grill occupies one of Westchester's more distinctive dining addresses. Every seat, whether inside or on the sunset terrace, looks out over the Hudson River, and the restaurant describes its ambition plainly: "all the comforts of a Manhattan hospitality experience" in a setting that remains visually striking without the noise of the city.

Modern American with Range

The kitchen works across a broad but coherent menu of modern American cuisine, with a pronounced lean toward the sea. Small plates run from Maine Lobster Bouche — lobster meat with shallots, avocado, pickled fresno chili, and lemon zest — to Spanish octopus with brava potatoes and black pesto, Oysters Rockefeller finished with champagne and pecorino, and tuna tartare crunchy rice cakes with chipotle mayo. The sushi menu holds its own alongside these, with specialty rolls like the Double Tuna (spicy tuna tartare, Asian pear, tuna sashimi, jalapeño, yuzu tobiko) and a Nigiri or Sashimi Platter of salmon, yellowtail, and big eye tuna.

Larger plates move from a Mushashi Black Cod with miso and yuzu glaze to a Shrimp and Scallop Risotto with saffron, and a grass-fed Filet Mignon with forest mushrooms and bordelaise. Brick oven pizzas, a Cold Lobster Roll, and a Prime Sirloin Burger round out a menu built to accommodate different moods at the same table.

The Wine List

The drinks program is a serious one. Wine director Wander DeBrito oversees a list that earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2025 — recognition that reflects genuine depth and curation. The bottle list spans Burgundy premier crus, Napa Cabernets, Barolo, and a thoughtful selection of sake to complement the Japanese side of the menu. By-the-glass pours cover everything from a Finger Lakes Riesling to a Sancerre from the Loire Valley.

Space and Occasion

Beyond the main dining room, 3 Westerly offers a mezzanine, beer garden, private dining room, and the river-facing terrace — spaces that flex from a relaxed weekday lunch to a composed private event. Weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday, and a happy hour operates Monday through Friday in the bar area. Dock-and-dine guests arriving by boat from the Shattemuc Yacht Club are welcome, with transient slips accommodating vessels up to 65 feet.
