The story
Catch 54 sits just over the bridge on Route 54 in Fenwick Island, Delaware, with a setting that does a lot of the talking: two bars, an upstairs deck, and open water views that put boats in the background while you eat. The restaurant has been recognized as the best waterfront restaurant in the state of Delaware, and its wine program has earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence consecutively since 2018 — a streak that speaks to how seriously the team takes the full dining experience, not just what lands on the plate.
The kitchen keeps things focused: beautiful, simple coastal cuisine built around what the region does best. House specialties include the signature crab cake, buttermilk fried oysters, and the famous 54 Burger. Beyond those anchors, the menu features fresh fish, scallops, shrimp, and an extensive raw bar with a wide selection of oysters. Daily specials rotate, so regulars always have a reason to come back. The seafood-forward approach is complemented by a strong selection of craft ales and cocktails alongside that award-winning wine list.
Executive Chef Todd Dolan leads the kitchen, with Sous Chef Andrew Koziel alongside him. General Manager Jules Frey oversees a room that can accommodate private events for up to 150 guests in the upstairs dining room and bar — a versatile space for everything from company gatherings to small weddings. Happy hour runs daily from open until 6 PM, making the upstairs deck — with its bay views and signature martinis — a natural stop for locals and visitors alike. The restaurant's own description says it plainly: the locals' favorite for seafood in Fenwick Island.
