The story
La Devozione is the New York City expression of Pastificio Di Martino, a pasta-making house established in 1912 and now in its third generation under Giuseppe di Martino. Set inside Chelsea Market on the edge of the High Line, it is the company's first brick-and-mortar presence in the United States — and it arrives not as a simple restaurant but as a multi-layered pasta destination: a retail shop stocked with over 126 shapes of PGI Gragnano pasta, a cocktail bar, a casual dining room, a to-go counter facing the main concourse, and at its center, The Oval.
The Oval is a 30-seat open-kitchen chef's counter helmed by Michelin-starred chef Peppe Guida. Every course is prepared in front of the guest, and the format is a fine-dining pasta tasting menu that draws on seasonal ingredients and classic Neapolitan recipes — the tradition that earned La Devozione a Gambero Rosso 3 Forks recognition in 2026. The current tasting menu, "Five Continents," is a six-course journey that moves from New York through the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia before returning to Italy with the restaurant's signature dish: La Devozione itself, spaghetti al pomodoro made with tomatoes from the Sorrento Coast. The wine program spans iconic Italian producers alongside natural and biodynamic discoveries.
The à la carte menu — served in the dining room and at the bar — leans into the Neapolitan canon without apology. "The Untouchables" section anchors the menu with dishes like Candele Spezzate con Ragù Napoletano, Mezzi Rigatoni alla Carbonara, Ziti alla Genovese, and a Fusillata Casareccia carrying Massimo Bottura's pesto. Seasonal additions range from Linguine all'Astice to Spaghettini with mandarin and caviar. For those passing through, the to-go counter serves the same spaghetti al pomodoro in chic containers, ready for the market or a bench on the High Line.
The cocktail bar seats up to nine and pours Italian-inflected originals alongside classic aperitivos, while the pasta shop lets guests take home the raw material — including limited-edition tins created in collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana and Barbie, and ceramics from Campania's Solimene. The name "La Devozione" translates simply as "The Devotion" — and the whole operation, from the dried pasta on the shelf to the tasting menu at The Oval, is built around that single idea.
