The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Fifteen Years and Still Setting the Pace

Catch New York has spent fifteen years as one of downtown Manhattan's most recognizable dining addresses, and its anniversary brought not a quiet celebration but a full reinvention. The Meatpacking District flagship relaunched with a redesigned interior by the Rockwell Group, a sharpened food-first philosophy, and a menu that cements its identity as a serious seafood destination without abandoning the social energy that built its reputation.

The Food: Tokyo Fish, Wagyu Hot Rocks, and Shareable Signatures

The seafood program is the backbone of everything here. Fish is flown in directly from Tokyo's Toyosu Market, and that commitment to sourcing shows across the raw bar and sushi sections. The Truffle Sashimi — tuna and hamachi with chili ponzu, black truffle purée, and Kaluga caviar — has become a signature for good reason. The Catch Roll (crab, salmon, miso-honey) and the Crudo di Catch, a composed plate of salmon, tuna, and hamachi with yuzu vinaigrette, represent the kitchen's ability to balance Japanese technique with a distinctly New York sensibility.

Nigiri selections push further: Charcoal-Seared Toro Kami, Torched Hokkaido Scallop, and a Golden A5 Wagyu piece finished with Kaluga caviar signal ambition beyond the expected. For the full experience, the Catch Nigiri Flight offers eight pieces across four premium cuts. The Wagyu Hot Rock service — A5 Kobe, Olive Beef from Kagawa, and Snow Beef from Hokkaido, all cooked tableside — extends the menu well beyond its seafood roots.

New additions like Angry Lobster Mafaldine and Grilled Shishito Peppers with yuzu chili garlic round out a menu designed for sharing, while returning favorites including Baked Lobster Mac & Cheese have been thoughtfully reimagined. The cocktail program keeps pace, with the Catch Dirty Martini — served with furikake mascarpone olives — and a Bananas Foster Old Fashioned among the standouts. Wine Spectator recognized the program with its Award of Excellence, a nod to the quality of the list supporting all of this.

The Space: Rooftop Views and Downtown Energy

The fourth-floor rooftop lounge, with floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor terrace overlooking the Manhattan skyline, remains one of the more compelling perches in the neighborhood. The dining room below carries the same lively atmosphere — warm but never quiet, polished but never stiff. Private dining is available for events that want the Catch energy with a degree of separation from the main floor.

The team behind The Corner Store, The Eighty Six, and Or'esh now steers the brand, and their influence is felt in the tighter focus on craft and hospitality. After fifteen years, Catch New York still defines what downtown dining looks and feels like.
