Bibliotheque describes itself plainly and honestly: a bookstore and café by day, a wine bar by night. Housed at 54 Mercer Street in SoHo, it was conceived as a passion project — a gathering space for artists, bookworms, and wine lovers who want somewhere that takes all three seriously.

The concept is straightforward but rare. From mid-morning onward, the space welcomes guests for coffee, pastries, sandwiches, conservas, flatbreads, and cheese and charcuterie boards. Laptops are welcome until 5pm, making it a genuine neighborhood anchor rather than a destination reserved for special occasions. As the afternoon fades, the tone shifts: walk-ins give way to a proper dinner service, and the wine program moves to center stage.

That wine program earned Bibliotheque a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2024 — recognition that signals serious curation, not just a curated-looking list.
