The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A Family Table, Twenty-Five Years in the Making

Bleu Provence has anchored Naples' dining scene since 1999, when Jacques and Lysielle Cariot opened what has become one of the city's most enduring French restaurants. Today, the second generation — Clément and Kevin Cariot — carry the kitchen and the cellar forward with the same philosophy their parents established: honest, ingredient-driven French cuisine rooted in the traditions of Provence.

The restaurant describes its approach plainly: simple, refined, and flavorful cuisine made from fresh, raw, and unprocessed ingredients. That commitment is more than a tagline — it extends to a 65-acre farm in Corkscrew Swamp where no chemical products or pesticides are used. The chef visits the fields directly, letting whatever is at peak season — papayas, peppers, herbs — shape the daily specials and rotating menus. The farm's greens appear on the table in dishes like the Sanctuary Mixed Greens Salad, dressed with passion fruit vinaigrette.

What's on the Plate

The menu moves through classic French territory with genuine confidence. Starters include Escargot cooked in White Burgundy with garlic and parsley butter, Seared Foie Gras with caramelized brioche and papaya jam, and Grilled Scallops on the Shell finished with a cayenne pepper beurre blanc. A nod to the founders appears in Lysielle's Lorraine — a quiche with bacon and Gruyère served alongside mixed salad.

Main courses span the range of Provençal French cooking: Gulf Shrimp à la Provençale over Carnaroli risotto with a lobster homardine sauce; Mediterranean Sea Bass grilled skin-on à la Plancha with lemon caper sauce and parmesan-gratinated fennel; and a Wagyu Short Ribs Bourguignon braised in red wine reduction, served with potato purée and sautéed mushrooms. The Duck Leg Confit arrives with duck fat-roasted baby potatoes and an orange-carrot mousseline. Desserts honor the classics — Crème Brûlée, Crêpe Suzette flambéed with Grand Marnier, Apple Tart Tatin with honey lavender ice cream — alongside more inventive finishes like Fennel in Bloom, a composed dessert built around fennel confit, anis meringue, and lime fennel sorbet.

The Wine Program

Wine is treated with the same seriousness as the food. The cellar holds over 3,000 carefully selected references, assembled as a tribute to artisan winemakers and their terroirs, with particular attention to organic Provence wines. Wine Spectator recognized this commitment with its Grand Award — one of the most demanding distinctions in restaurant wine programs globally — and the restaurant notes it has received prestigious wine recognition continuously for two decades. Clément Cariot is involved in the wine program, including guidance on sparkling wine selections. Sommeliers work the room with food-and-wine pairings designed to complement the Provençal French cuisine rather than overshadow it.

The Setting

Valet parking is complimentary each evening, and the restaurant offers outdoor seating alongside its indoor dining room. Private spaces are available for events, and a wine shop allows guests to take selections home. The atmosphere is that of an elegant bistro — warm and family-run — where the cooking, the cellar, and the hospitality all reflect a single household's quarter-century of dedication to getting it right.
