The story
Sardomare Pasta Bar operates from Miami's Design District, where chef Daniele Senis has made it his mission to channel the food and wine culture of his native Sardinia into one of America's most design-conscious neighborhoods. The project earned a 2 Forks recognition from Gambero Rosso in 2025 — a meaningful nod from Italy's most authoritative food guide to a restaurant working far from home.
Daniele Senis grew up in the middle Campidano, the agricultural heartland of Sardinia, in a family shaped by a deep respect for the land. Over more than a decade of cooking across Austria, Germany, Poland, and South Korea, he built a philosophy that he sums up simply: "think global but eat local" — drawing on international technique while honoring whatever ingredients a territory offers at any given moment.
His cooking style takes its cues from his grandmother's traditional methods, then bends them with quiet innovation. Sardinia, he says, is a constant presence in his senses. He describes each dish as a kind of film set: "the main ingredient is the absolute protagonist and where all the other ingredients are simple extras to enhance the taste and character of the main character." That clarity of vision is what makes Sardinian cuisine here feel grounded rather than theatrical.
The menu leans into the sea — octopus, tuna, and other seafood preparations reflect the island's coastal identity — alongside the handmade pasta and carefully sourced ingredients that define authentic Sardinian cooking. Guests have singled out the linguine alle vongole and the caprese salad in particular, praising both the precision of the cooking and the warmth of the atmosphere.
Beyond the pasta bar itself, Sardomare extends its reach through wedding catering, private chef services, boat and yacht dining, and business events — bringing the same ingredient-first ethos to settings across Miami and the surrounding area.
