The story
Ferraro's Kitchen is, in every way, a family business. Chef Igor Ferraro, a native of Venice, grew up around wine and genuine products — his father was a wine producer in the area of Bassano del Grappa. After completing his studies in hospitality and earning his sommelier credentials, Igor deepened his craft across Italy and Europe, working in historic Venetian wine cellars before eventually opening a cooking school in Rome. In late 2013, he brought his Italian cuisine to Miami, and Ferraro's Kitchen — run together with his wife Cristiana — became his fullest expression of that lifelong vocation.
The philosophy here is deliberate and unpretentious: ingredients should be stellar, food simply prepared, service kind and efficient. Many products are sourced from local organic farms. The menu moves through the full arc of Italian cuisine — from antipasti like Vitello Tonnato (thinly sliced French veal tenderloin with tuna emulsion and capers) and Polpo all'Adriatica (octopus with Taggiasca olives, capers, and potatoes), to handmade pastas such as Pappardelle al Cinghiale with wild boar sauce or Ravioli Aragosta e Tartufo Fresco stuffed with Maine lobster claws and topped with fresh truffle. Risottos, whole branzino baked in sea salt, and a slow-cooked lamb shank with Parmesan risotto round out a menu that is generous without being excessive.
The signature dessert — Tiramisù Veneziano — is a direct nod to Igor's roots: espresso-drenched ladyfingers beneath waves of mascarpone and cocoa, made the way it's done in Venice.
Wine is not an afterthought here. Igor arranged the wine list himself, and it has earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence three consecutive years — 2023, 2024, and 2025 — a recognition that reflects the depth and care behind the selection. The restaurant also hosts wine pairing dinners, wine tastings, and private interactive cooking classes, making the experience of Italian cuisine something guests can engage with beyond the table.
Ferraro's Kitchen sits in Miami's MiMo District — a neighborhood on the rise — at 1099 NE 79th Street. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable by intention: smart casual dress is encouraged, and the room suits everything from a business lunch to an unhurried weeknight dinner. Private dining and event spaces are available for groups seeking a more exclusive setting.
