The story
The Dining Room aboard SeaDream II operates by a simple principle: no fixed seatings, no crowds, no rush. Every meal — breakfast, lunch, or dinner — may be taken al fresco beneath open sky or within the elegant dining salon, following the rhythm of the day rather than a schedule. That freedom, rare at sea and rarer still at this level of refinement, earned the restaurant a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star award for 2026 and recognition as the highest-rated restaurant at sea.
Menus are prepared à la minute and shaped by wherever the yacht happens to be. Seasonal ingredients and regional flavors inform each service, whether that means Mediterranean produce during summer sailings or Caribbean influences in winter. Inclusive wine pairings accompany every dinner, drawn from a cellar that spans mineral-driven Mediterranean whites to structured Bordeaux and Napa Valley reds. For guests who want to go further, distinguished bottles such as Château Ducru Beaucaillou Grand Cru Classé and Insignia, Napa Valley sit alongside aged whiskies and fine cognacs.
Fine dining here extends well beyond the main dining salon. The all-inclusive open bar — at the Top of the Yacht Bar, poolside, in the Piano Bar, or the Main Salon — means a thoughtfully poured glass is never far away. As evening winds down, the Dessert Extravaganza gathers guests around a lavish spread of pastries, cakes, ice creams, and Bananas Foster, an elegant punctuation to the day.
Dietary preferences are handled with the same precision as the core menu. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, pescatarian, high-protein, and Keto selections are prepared with care, never as an afterthought. And for a quieter interlude, twelve exclusive tea blends — crafted by a master blender in Kent, England, and available only on board — are steeped to order in individual Bodum teapots, with service staff timing the infusion and alerting guests when the recommended steep has been reached.
From May through November, select Mediterranean sailings deepen the connection between place and glass. Designed by SeaDream's Wine Director, these Wine Voyages include guided tastings on board and visits to celebrated estates and emerging producers ashore — a natural extension of the fine dining experience that defines life on SeaDream II.
Guest after guest describes the food as exceptional, the service as first-rate, and the overall experience as unlike anything else at sea. The Forbes recognition confirms what returning voyagers already know.
