The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A Dining Room Built for the Table

The Bedford Village Inn's Dining Room is not a single room but seven — each immaculately restored, individually decorated, and several warmed by a fireplace. Capacities run from 12 to 55 guests, making the space equally suited to an intimate dinner for two and a private gathering. A business-casual dress code keeps the atmosphere consistently refined without tipping into stiff formality.

The kitchen's focus is modern New England cuisine, a style of American cooking that draws on regional producers and seasonal rhythms. Sourcing is specific and deliberate: eggs come from cage-free New Hampshire farms, mushrooms from Dunk's, greens from Little Leaf Farms, salmon from the Faroe Islands, bacon and sausage from North Country. That local specificity shows up across the menu, from a Blueberry Buttermilk Pancake with NH maple syrup at weekend brunch to a Herb Roasted Faroe Island Salmon Fillet with harissa sauce and kalamata olive crumb at dinner.

The Wine Cellar

One of the Inn's defining features is its wine cellar, home to more than 8,000 bottles. The list earned Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence — recognition that reflects genuine depth and curation rather than sheer volume. The team is available to guide guests through the selection, pairing vintages to whatever direction the meal takes. The property has also received the AAA Four Diamond Award and the DiRōNA Award, a consistent record that speaks to the overall standard of the dining experience.

What to Expect at the Table

The menu moves across the day. Weekday lunch and daily dinner anchor the week; weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday adds a distinct register — New England Oysters on the Half Shell, Duck Trap Smoked Salmon with pumpernickel crostini, a Monte Cristo on house-made brioche with NH maple syrup, and a BVI Brunch Burger layered with Gruyère, shaved ham, and hollandaise on a toasted croissant. The American cooking here is grounded and confident, without unnecessary elaboration.

Reservations are strongly recommended. The Inn notes plainly that table availability cannot be guaranteed for walk-ins — a fair signal of how consistently this dining room fills.
