The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

South Lubbock's Premier Steakhouse

Las Brisas Southwest Steakhouse has established itself as the definitive fine-dining address in West Texas. Located on 112th Street in south Lubbock, it pairs exceptional Southwestern American cuisine with a polished atmosphere and a level of service the team describes as hand-picked and highly trained — qualities that have earned the restaurant Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence across multiple years, most recently in 2024, as well as back-to-back Best Upscale Dining honors from Best of the West in 2024 and 2025.

The Steaks

The heart of the menu is beef, and Las Brisas takes sourcing seriously. All-natural Red Angus steaks — from an 8 oz Filet Mignon to a 25 oz Bone-In Ribeye — come from Meyer All Natural Red Angus Beef, raised without hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. The Tomahawk is a signature showpiece, celebrated as the finest in West Texas. For something rarer, Wagyu is also on offer, grilled to order and positioned as the choice for special occasions. Steaks arrive with sautéed asparagus and truffle mashed potatoes, with a thoughtful list of add-ons — cold water lobster tail, Oscar style, bleu cheese crown, or a four-peppercorn crust — that let guests tailor each plate.

Beyond the Grill

The Southwestern American spirit runs through the full menu. Standout entrées include Street Tacos made with flash-fried Filet Mignon, jalapeño citrus slaw, and avocado purée, and a Raspberry Filet finished with raspberry chipotle sauce, pecans, and jalapeño cream cheese. Seafood is flown in fresh three times a week — a deliberate choice for a landlocked region — and ranges from seasonal oysters and a full Seafood Tower to Ora King Salmon preparations and Chilean Sea Bass over spinach and heirloom tomato risotto.

Sunday brunch adds another dimension, with dishes like a Chicken Fried Wagyu Steak with green chili bacon gravy and a Las Brisas Breakfast of ancho-marinated steak over pepper-jack hash browns with avocado purée.

Wine, Cocktails, and Private Dining

The wine program — recognized repeatedly by Wine Spectator — spans serious California Chardonnays from Cakebread and Rombauer to an extensive selection by the bottle. The cocktail list is inventive without being overwrought: a Lorenzo (reposado tequila old fashioned with chocolate bitters), a Red & Black Manhattan with walnut bitters, and a full range of flavored Chiltons speak to the bar's ambition.

For groups, Las Brisas offers private dining rooms suited to intimate celebrations and larger events alike, with catering that scales from micro-weddings to conventions of 900 or more — all held to the same standards as the main dining room.
