The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A Supper Club Reborn Above the Skyline

Perched on the 25th floor of the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville, Swizzle Dinner & Drinks revives the glamour of 1940s supper club dining without a trace of nostalgia fatigue. The concept is straightforward and confident: prime steaks, sustainably sourced seafood, local produce, and head-spinning craft cocktails — all while the room literally turns around you. Twin revolving floors deliver a continuously shifting panorama of the Louisville skyline and the Ohio River, making the setting as dynamic as what arrives on the plate.

The Story Behind the Spin

Swizzle opened in 2019 as part of a $90 million renovation of the Galt House Hotel, occupying a space previously known as Review. Named for the classic cocktail stir, the restaurant was built around a simple conviction: a night out should be an experience, not just a meal. The mid-century modern aesthetic — an open-concept kitchen, an expansive bar, warm retro lines — channels the ease and elegance of an era when lingering over dinner was the whole point.

What's on the Table

The menu reads as a well-edited American steakhouse with serious seafood ambitions. The cold bar opens with freshly shucked oysters (East and West Coast), spicy yellowfin tuna on crispy rice cakes, and a chilled seafood platter that scales from a curated small format to a large spread featuring lobster tail, crab ceviche, and salmon tartare. From the kitchen, the Cedar Plank King Salmon arrives with lemon garlic spaghetti squash and whipped feta, while Cast Iron Seared Scallops come finished with a citrus rosemary beurre blanc. The prime steak program runs from a center-cut Filet Mignon to a Prime Dry-Aged Bone-In Ribeye, with a Carnivore Platter — filet, strip, and ribeye served sliced alongside three house sauces — for the table that wants it all.

Local sourcing is woven throughout: Black Hawk Farms bone marrow, Spring Valley Farms apple butter bourbon glaze, Kenny's Farmhouse cheeses, and Blue Dog Bakery bread appear across the menu, grounding the American cuisine in Kentucky's own pantry.

The Bar and the Bottle

The cocktail program leans into the supper club spirit — the 1910 Old Fashioned is a signature — and the wine list earned Swizzle a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2023, a recognition that reflects the range and care of the selection. Private barrel picks like the Inglenook "1882" Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford and the Sonoma-Cutrer "Les Pierres" Chardonnay sit alongside an accessible by-the-glass list that covers everything from Willamette Valley Pinot Noir to Banfi Rosa Regale.

The Room Itself

Beyond the food and drink, Swizzle is one of the few places in Louisville where the dining room is itself the spectacle. Private and semi-private dining options are available for events, and the space accommodates everything from corporate gatherings to celebratory dinners — all with what the restaurant rightly calls the best river and city views in town.
