A Tradition Built on the Best

Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse traces its origins to a deliberate act of research. National restaurateur Tilman Fertitta and his father Vic traveled across North America, experiencing the continent's finest steakhouses and cataloguing what truly separates the great from the merely good: a carefully crafted menu, an extensive wine selection, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that is elegant without being cold. What they built from that study is, by their own description, "the most spectacular dining environment you'll find anywhere — a world-class steakhouse." The Lake Charles location, set within the Golden Nugget resort, carries that standard forward.

The Menu

The steakhouse menu centers on USDA Prime beef, with cuts ranging from an 8 oz Filet Mignon to a 40 oz Tomahawk Chop. A dedicated World of Wagyu section brings in A5 Filet Mignon from Kagoshima, Japan alongside domestic options from Texas and the Pacific Northwest — a breadth that signals genuine commitment to sourcing rather than a single marquee cut. Fresh seafood runs alongside the beef program: colossal shrimp, jumbo lump crab cakes with chive beurre blanc, cold water rock lobster tail, and Alaskan king crab legs broiled in tarragon herb butter. Starters like roasted bone marrow with everything seasoning and a full seafood tower set the tone before the main event arrives.

The kitchen also offers a thoughtful complement system — Béarnaise, Port Peppercorn, Bordelaise, Jumbo Lump Crab Oscar — that lets guests build each plate to their own preference rather than receiving a fixed presentation.

Recognition and the Wine Program

The wine list earned Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence, a mark of a cellar with meaningful depth and breadth across regions and vintages. That recognition is consistent with the founding philosophy: the wine program was conceived as a pillar of the experience from the start, not an afterthought. The Lake Charles location has also been ranked among the top ten fine dining restaurants in the United States by Tripadvisor's Traveler's Choice Best of the Best.
