The story
Hush Sushi Kitchen and Bar on South Main Street in Keller, Texas is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Tommy Zheng and Donny Wu — a duo who brought decades of restaurant experience from New York City and Columbus, Ohio before planting their most ambitious concept in the heart of the DFW area. Tommy serves as Executive Chef and co-owner, while Donny drives the business vision alongside him. Together, they set out to raise the bar for Japanese cuisine in North Texas, blending treasured family recipes with innovative, modern presentations.
The philosophy at Hush is straightforward: the freshest fish, eye-catching presentations, and world-class hospitality in a space that feels both luxurious and genuinely welcoming. Every design detail inside the restaurant — the tableware, wall tiles, light fixtures, even the logo — is said to reflect the founders' journey. It's a room that tells a story before the first dish arrives.
The menu spans lunch and dinner, with fresh sushi at its core, complemented by American and Asian steakhouse fare that draws on the team's broad culinary range. The bar program is a serious draw in its own right: mixologists craft cocktails designed to pair with the food, and Hush lays claim to one of the largest Japanese whisky selections in the area, alongside a curated sake and wine list that earned the restaurant Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence in 2025 — a meaningful benchmark for any list outside a major metropolitan center.
Half-priced bottles every Sunday have become something of a local institution, and themed happy hours — whisky tastings, gin celebrations, tequila features — keep the calendar lively. Whether someone is stopping in for a pre-dinner drink or settling in for a late evening, the bar at Hush functions as a destination independent of the dining room.
Beyond the Wine Spectator honor, Hush has been recognized by Living Magazine as Best Sushi three years running (2023–2025), named Best Asian by Tops in Tarrant in 2024, and acknowledged by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Reader's Choice and Fort Worth Weekly. That consistency across local and national recognition speaks to a kitchen and front-of-house that have found their rhythm.
For anyone seeking elevated Japanese cuisine in the Keller and broader DFW area — served with genuine care and a bar program that stands on its own — Hush delivers on its quiet promise.
