The story
On the edge of the Intracoastal waterway in Hollywood, Florida, GG's Waterfront Bar & Grill occupies a spot with genuine history. Back in the 1950s and '60s, the location was a Rat Pack hangout where Frank Sinatra and his circle gathered — a legacy that gives the place a certain unhurried confidence. Today, owned and operated by the Serafini family — Dan and Lise-Anne, with Managing Partner Alex Serafini and Director of Events Rachelle Serafini — it remains a Hollywood landmark, drawing diners from Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, and as far south as Miami.
The interior is modern yet comfortable: original art on the walls, gas lamps, custom-designed booths, and a large open kitchen where Executive Chef Anthony Sea and his team work in full view of the dining room. The raw bar anchors the space, a natural focal point for a restaurant where fresh seafood is the main event. Outside, a covered dockside promenade and a waterfront patio lounge offer front-row seats as luxury yachts glide past. Every afternoon, guests gather at the bar to watch the sky shift from blue to deep orange — a ritual that has become as much a part of the experience as the food itself.
The American seafood menu moves confidently from raw bar classics to composed mains. Locally sourced fish, Florida stone crab claws, chilled Maine lobster, and a Grand Chilled Seafood Tower for the table anchor one end of the menu. Starters like Yellowfin Tuna Crudo with pineapple aguachile and puffed rice, or Harissa-Spiced Octopus with heirloom tomato and chickpeas, show a kitchen comfortable with global flavors. Mains include Chilean Sea Bass with dashi bok choy and sweet soy, Florida Grouper over tomato risotto cake, and a Cioppino loaded with lobster tail, clams, mussels, scallops, and fresh fish. For those who prefer land to sea, a 16oz Certified Angus Ribeye and a Prime Bone-In New York Strip round out the grill section. Weekend brunch brings its own highlights — the Millionaire Eggs Benedict, built on jumbo lump crab, poached farm-fresh eggs, and béarnaise, is the kind of dish that earns a return visit.
GG's holds a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, recognition that reflects the care put into a list of more than 125 wines and champagnes sourced from around the world — curated specifically to complement the flavors of the seafood-forward American cuisine. Cocktails and live music round out the evenings, while Sunday's Sunset Yacht Watch Party on the patio, with live musicians, has become a local institution in its own right.
