The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Where the Atlantic Sets the Table

Stars is the flagship dining room of the Chatham Bars Inn, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on the elbow of Cape Cod. The setting is steeped in history, and the kitchen leans into that legacy rather than escaping it — reimagining classic dishes through a lens of modern coastal American cuisine that draws directly from the land and sea surrounding it.

At the heart of the menu is a working farm: the 8-acre Chatham Bars Inn Farm in Brewster, Massachusetts, which supplies over 100,000 pounds of produce annually. Executive Chef Andrew Chadwick shapes both the breakfast and dinner menus around what the farm and the local coastline offer, keeping sourcing as local as possible.

Morning and Evening, Done Seriously

Breakfast at Stars reads like a full culinary statement. Lobster & Grits — butter-poached lobster over cave-aged cheddar and stone-ground grits, finished with caviar and two poached eggs — sits alongside a Pavlova Waffle with summer berry salad and lemon posset, or a Cape Madame built on cranberry walnut bread with black forest ham and granny smith apple. The Farm Pisto Manchego brings the inn's own vegetables into a spiced tomato sauce with eggs and manchego on sourdough. These are not afterthoughts.

Dinner shifts into more formal territory. Starters include Cape Cod Oysters with a Negroni mignonette, Osetra Caviar served on seaweed blinis with smoked maple, and a Scallop Crudo dressed with pink peppercorn lime and watermelon basil sorbet. Entrées range from Butter Poached Lobster with ricotta sundried tomato gnudi and squid ink coral to a Miso Cod with burnt onion dashi, and a Dry Aged Duck with citrus heirloom carrot and potato fondant. The CBI Farm Showcase section of the menu — cucumbers with yuzu crème fraîche, beet salad with chèvre croquette — makes the farm's contribution explicit on the plate.

Recognition That Means Something

Wine Spectator has awarded Stars its Best of Award of Excellence, a distinction that reflects the depth and curation of the wine program alongside the food. For a restaurant rooted in American cuisine with genuine coastal character, that kind of recognition speaks to the full experience: the wine list is not an accessory here.

Reservations are strongly recommended, particularly in season. Private dining and outdoor seating are available, making Stars a considered choice for both quiet evenings and larger gatherings.
