The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Where the Atlantic Sets the Table

STARS occupies a singular position on Cape Cod — a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star dining room where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the Atlantic, and nearly everything on the plate traces back to an eight-acre farm the inn has operated since 2012. That farm in Brewster, MA delivers more than 100,000 pounds of produce annually, and Executive Chef Andrew Chadwick's team builds the menu around it, bridging the inn's storied past with cooking that is firmly, confidently of the moment.

Modern Coastal Cuisine, Grounded in Place

The kitchen's approach is best described as modern coastal cuisine — regional heritage recast through precise, contemporary technique. Dinner starters include Cape Cod oysters with a Negroni mignonette, scallop crudo with watermelon basil sorbet, and a lobster cannelloni filled with lobster farce and basil ricotta. Entrées lean into the waters and fields surrounding Chatham: butter-poached lobster over ricotta sundried tomato gnudi, seared local scallops with pea purée and pomegranate jus, and a miso cod with burnt onion dashi. For those drawn to the land side of the menu, the daily butcher block selection arrives with CBI farm vegetables and pommes purée.

Breakfast at STARS carries the same ambition. Lobster & grits — butter-poached lobster, cave-aged cheddar, stone-ground grits, poached eggs, and caviar — sits alongside pavlova waffles and a farm pisto manchego built on the inn's own vegetables. It is, as the restaurant puts it, Cape Cod's premier dining experience from morning through evening.

Recognition Worth Noting

The Wine Spectator 2025 Best of Award of Excellence reflects a wine program that matches the seriousness of the kitchen. Forbes Travel Guide's Four-Star rating — earned in part by a service team with decades of experience, much of it at STARS itself — speaks to something rarer than good food: consistency and genuine hospitality delivered at every cover.

A Room That Earns Its Views

The best seats run along those tall windows. By day, the ocean stretches out in full; after dark, the resort's white lights give the room a quiet glow. The atmosphere is elegant without being stiff — a place where the dessert menu alone (housemade Cape Cod ice cream, a chocolate-banana rocher with dark chocolate mousse and espresso Chantilly) signals that the kitchen takes pleasure seriously. Reservations are highly recommended.
