The story
Micheline is a French bistro on Scarsdale Avenue brought to life by Jonathan Aubrey, a Scarsdale native and alumnus of the celebrated Eleven Madison Park. That pedigree shows in the details: precise technique, a menu rooted in French classics, and a room that feels equally right for a family dinner, after-work drinks, or a quiet evening at the bar.
The menu moves between the comfortingly familiar and the carefully considered. Escargot and Moules Marinières anchor the starters, while Hake Grenobloise and Duck Breast represent the kitchen's more composed side. The Micheline burger — served with a special sauce and hand-cut fries — has become a local fixture in its own right. On Sundays, brunch extends the range further, from Challah French Toast to what the kitchen simply calls the most perfect French Omelette.
Micheline holds a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, recognition that reflects the seriousness of its exclusively French wine list. Every bottle on the list comes from France, a deliberate choice that keeps the beverage program in conversation with the food rather than running parallel to it. Expertly crafted cocktails round out the bar offering.
Daily specials keep the menu moving through the week, and a happy hour runs Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Outdoor seating is available when the weather cooperates. For those who prefer to eat in, Micheline's French bistro favorites are also available to order online.
