Just off the square in downtown Georgetown, Texas, Körk Wine Bar brings together a serious wine program and some genuinely great food in a space that guests describe as having an unmistakable industrial vibe — brick walls, glass and steel garage doors — that manages to feel both relaxed and special.

The Wine List

The numbers alone make a statement: over 250 bottle selections sourced from around the world, with more than 50 available by the glass or tasting. The range spans everyday crowd-pleasers and serious collector bottles — customers on opening day called out Charles Heidsieck Champagne and Caymus Cabernet by the glass, and Tignanello available by the bottle. Wine Spectator recognized this commitment with its Award of Excellence in 2021, a fitting acknowledgment for a list that punches well above its small-town setting. No membership is required to access any of it.

For those who want a more curated relationship with the cellar, the Körk Wine Club ships quarterly selections — weighted toward reds — with pickup windows in February, May, August, and November, plus member-only events and exclusive by-the-glass pours.

The Food

Wine is the anchor, but the kitchen earns its own attention. Neapolitan pizza is made to the strict guidelines of the VPN (Verace Pizza Napoletana), with dough that produces the hallmark slightly runny center and toasted, charred edges — fired in a wood-burning Stefano Ferrara oven, the same artisan equipment used by serious pizzerias in Naples itself. One guest who had actually eaten pizza in Naples put it plainly: "their pizza is just as good or better." The menu rounds out with charcuterie boards, salads, small plates built around fresh, high-quality ingredients, and rotating dessert options.

Tuesday evenings bring a standing deal — a bottle of wine paired with a pizza for $45 — making it a straightforward choice for a weeknight out.

The Atmosphere

The room is dog-friendly, the staff consistently praised for warmth, and the outdoor seating extends the experience when the Texas weather cooperates. Takeout is available too, and during the early days of the pandemic Körk was already pairing wine bottles to go based on nothing more than a customer's price range — a small detail that says something real about how the place is run.
