From Butcher Shop to Premier Steakhouse

The story of Perry's Steakhouse & Grille begins not in a white-tablecloth dining room but behind a meat counter. In 1979, Bob Perry opened a modest butcher shop in Houston, building a neighborhood following on the strength of his meat selection and straightforward service. By 1986, his son Chris Perry had persuaded him to add dining tables — a small but consequential decision. The concept proved so popular that Chris went on to open Perry's Steakhouse & Grille in 1993, and what started as a single family business has since grown into one of the country's most recognized steakhouse groups, with locations across Texas and in cities from Chicago to Miami.
