From Butcher Shop to Premier Steakhouse

The story of Perry's Steakhouse & Grille begins with a modest meat market. In 1979, Bob Perry opened Perry's Butcher Shop in Houston, building a neighborhood following on the strength of quality cuts and straightforward service. By 1986, his son Chris Perry had persuaded him to add dining tables — a move that proved popular enough to inspire something larger. In 1993, Chris opened Perry's Steakhouse & Grille, and the concept has grown steadily ever since, now operating across Texas and in cities from Chicago to Miami.

The Cypress location on Cypresswood Drive carries that same lineage. The butcher shop roots are not just backstory — they inform how the restaurant selects and handles its meat, with USDA Prime beef at the center of the menu.

What to Expect at the Table

Perry's Steakhouse is built around what the brand calls a Rare and Well Done® experience. The tableside carving of the Famous Pork Chop is a signature moment — attentive staff bring the dish to the table and carve it in front of guests, a touch that reflects the restaurant's emphasis on presentation as much as flavor.
