The story
The story of Perry's Steakhouse & Grille begins with a modest meat market. In 1979, Bob Perry opened Perry's Butcher Shop in Houston, building a loyal neighborhood following on the strength of top-quality cuts and straightforward service. By 1986, his son Chris Perry had persuaded him to add dining tables — a decision that changed everything. The shop's reputation for exceptional meat translated seamlessly to the dining room, and in 1993 Chris opened Perry's Steakhouse & Grille as a concept in its own right. What started as a family butcher operation now spans more than two dozen locations across the country, while remaining, in its own words, "true to its neighborhood butcher shop roots."
The Cinco Ranch location on Katy's Cinco Ranch Boulevard brings that same lineage to the western Houston suburbs — a full-service steakhouse where the sourcing standards and service ethos of the original shop are still the baseline.
Perry's Steakhouse describes its approach as a Rare and Well Done® experience — a phrase that captures both the spectrum of the kitchen's output and the attention given to every detail of a visit. The menu centers on USDA Prime beef, and the dining room is known for tableside carvings of the Famous Pork Chop, a signature that has become something of an institution across the brand. Handcrafted cocktails, an extensive portfolio of reserve wines, and bar bites round out an evening at Perry's Bar 79.
That wine program earned the location a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence — recognition that reflects the seriousness with which the list is curated and the care taken in pairing it with a steakhouse menu built around bold, well-sourced proteins.
The Cinco Ranch steakhouse is equipped for the full range of occasions — weekday business lunches, weekend dinners, private parties, and catered events. Outdoor seating and Wi-Fi are available, and takeaway is an option for those who prefer Perry's at home. The private events program draws on decades of experience hosting gatherings across the group's locations.
Beyond the dining room, Perry's Restaurants supports local food banks, fine arts associations, and organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation — a community presence that has been part of the brand's identity since its Houston beginnings.
