The name says something about the place. Chimarrão is a traditional Brazilian drink — a symbol of warmth and shared hospitality — and it's from that spirit that Chima Steakhouse draws its identity. The Silva family introduced this tradition to the United States in 2003, opening the first location in Fort Lauderdale and carrying forward the churrasco culture of the gauchos from southern Brazil: beef seasoned simply, cooked slowly over open flame, and shared generously at the table.

The Charlotte outpost brings that same ethos to Uptown, at 139 S. Tryon Street. The format is authentic Brazilian rodízio — a continuous parade of expertly grilled meats carved tableside — available as a Full Rodízio or a Select Rodízio, complemented by a gourmet salad bar, bar appetizers, and desserts. For those with specific dietary needs, Chima Charlotte now also offers a Halal Rodízio experience featuring premium Halal-certified cuts prepared in the same tradition.

The wine program earned Chima a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, a recognition that reflects genuine depth and curation rather than a perfunctory list. It's the kind of selection that rewards guests who want to pair a well-chosen bottle with a long, unhurried meal.

Beyond dinner, the restaurant accommodates private parties and group dining, and runs happy hour bar specials for those looking to experience the Brazilian flair in a more casual setting. Catering and takeaway options extend the Chima experience beyond the dining room.
