Perry's Steakhouse & Grille

From a 1979 Houston butcher shop to a premier steakhouse group, Perry's brings USDA Prime beef and tableside tradition to Bunker Hill Village.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

From Butcher Shop to Premier Steakhouse

In 1979, Bob Perry opened a modest meat market in Houston that would quietly become the foundation of one of the country's most recognized steakhouse groups. Seven years later, his son Chris Perry joined the business and persuaded his father to add dining tables — a small decision with lasting consequences. The warm reception from loyal customers gave Chris the confidence to open Perry's Steakhouse & Grille in 1993, and the rest followed from there.

The Katy Freeway location in Bunker Hill Village carries that same lineage forward. Perry's Steakhouse & Grille remains true to its butcher shop roots: a commitment to top-quality selection, attentive service, and the kind of meal that earns repeat visits rather than just first impressions.

What to Expect at the Table

Perry's describes its approach as a Rare and Well Done® experience — a phrase that captures both the quality of the USDA Prime beef and the standard of hospitality. The room is built for occasions: private parties, business dinners, celebrations that call for something more than ordinary. Valet parking, a full bar, and a set lunch menu make the steakhouse equally suited to a midday meeting or a long weekend evening.

The signature tableside carving of Perry's Famous Pork Chop is the detail guests tend to remember most — a nod to the butcher shop heritage that started everything. Perry's Bar 79 rounds out the experience with handcrafted cocktails, craft beer, and an extensive wine list, the latter recognized with a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, a mark of distinction that reflects the seriousness with which the wine program is curated.

A Steakhouse with Roots Worth Knowing

What separates Perry's from a generic steakhouse is the traceable story behind it. Four decades of operating in Houston, beginning with a single neighborhood market, have shaped a culture of consistency. The group now runs more than twenty steakhouse locations across Texas and beyond, but the Katy Freeway address still operates with the same premise Bob Perry started with: the finest selections, prepared and served with care.

For guests who want a steakhouse experience grounded in genuine history rather than manufactured atmosphere, Perry's makes a straightforward case.
