The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Where the Mediterranean Meets the Boston Seaport

Coquette draws its identity from the culture and cuisine of the Mediterranean coast, translating that sun-drenched sensibility into a refined yet relaxed dining room at 450 Summer Street in Boston's Seaport district. Part of the COJE Management Group's portfolio of social dining destinations, the restaurant is built around what its team calls "old-world hospitality" expressed through thoughtfully designed spaces where elegance and a touch of irreverence coexist comfortably.

That balance shows in the room and on the plate. The atmosphere is described as one of "refined, casual elegance" — a setting that moves seamlessly from an early dinner to late-night drinks without losing its composure. Wine Spectator recognized the program with its Best of Award of Excellence, a nod to the depth and curation of a list that pairs naturally with the kitchen's Mediterranean-leaning menu.

The Raw Bar and the Table

The heart of the menu is the Barre Crue — a raw bar anchored by oysters served two ways, including a striking granita preparation with pomegranate, Meyer lemon, and espelette pepper. Tuna crudo with cucumber-basil salsa verde and Sicilian olive oil, fluke ceviche with passion fruit and mango relish, and steak tartare topped with ossetra caviar round out a section that rewards those who linger.

Small plates lean confidently into Mediterranean flavors: octopus carpaccio with harissa yogurt and Tunisian five spice; lamb meatballs with orange-date glaze and harissa chili oil; provençal spinach dumplings (listed on the menu as Merda dé Can) with roquefort crème and tomato-brown butter. Capri-style pizzas — thin, crispy, finished with fior di latte mozzarella — offer a lighter counterpoint, with options ranging from a four-cheese with pomodoro to a spring pizza built on pistachio pesto and fried eggplant.

Larger plates include a Mediterranean sea bream (Dorade Royale) with tomato-brown butter and hazelnut panzanella, za'atar salmon with cucumber laban and harissa, and dry-aged cuts for those drawn to the grill side of the menu.

Brunch, Pastry, and the Afternoon Hours

Weekend brunch extends the kitchen's range, with the Cocorico pastry section offering handmade butter croissants, cannelé de Bordeaux, and a miso caramel sticky bun alongside an afternoon tea tower for two. The raw bar carries over from dinner, and Capri-style pizzas appear on both menus — a sensible continuity that gives the Mediterranean cuisine its full showcase across the day.

Between brunch service and dinner, weekend afternoons bring cocktails and a limited food menu, making Coquette a destination at multiple points in the day rather than a single-occasion restaurant.
