The story
It started with a hamburger. Before co-founders Arnie Morton and Klaus Fritsch built one of America's most recognized steakhouse names, they crossed paths at the Playboy Club in Montreal, where Klaus cooked a burger so good that Arnie stormed the kitchen to find out who made it. That chance encounter became what they called the "Million-Dollar Hamburger" — and the foundation of a partnership that opened the first Morton's on State Street in Chicago in 1978.
More than four decades later, the Boca Raton location at Town Center Circle carries that same founding philosophy: quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality. The dining room moves comfortably between business dinners, celebratory evenings, and relaxed weeknight meals, with an atmosphere Morton's describes as "a true blend of classic and contemporary."
The steakhouse reputation rests on a firm commitment to USDA prime-aged beef — the top two percent of beef available in the United States. Morton's works with the same suppliers it has used since day one, and the standard is straightforward: if it doesn't meet their specifications, it doesn't get cut. Alongside the prime steaks, the kitchen offers fresh seafood — Chilean Sea Bass, Oysters on the Half Shell, Colossal Shrimp, Red King Crab Legs — for guests who want to pair land and sea on the same table. Seasonal additions like Prime Bavette Steak Frites, Wagyu Beef Stroganoff, and Oysters Rockefeller keep the menu from standing still.
The wine list earned Morton's the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, a distinction that reflects a collection of more than 300 labels spanning exclusive vintages, cult favorites, and sommelier selections. An on-site Wine Locker program allows regulars to store personal bottles, and the Bar 12-21 program rounds out the beverage side with hand-crafted cocktails and craft brews. General managers and sommeliers are on hand to guide pairings, and the team regularly hosts exclusive tastings in the private dining rooms.
The Boca Raton location is well set up for groups. Private rooms accommodate everything from corporate functions to charitable events, and Morton's has a track record of partnering with athletes and foundations for larger-scale gatherings. Catering and Prime Platters extend the steakhouse experience beyond the dining room entirely.
