A Story That Started With a Hamburger

Morton's, The Steakhouse traces its origins to an unlikely moment: co-founders Arnie Morton and Klaus Fritsch, both working at the Playboy Club in Montreal, connected over what Arnie would later call the "Million-Dollar Hamburger" — a burger Klaus had cooked that stopped Arnie in his tracks. That chance encounter became the foundation for a steakhouse that first opened on State Street in Chicago in 1978 and has since grown to more than 65 locations worldwide. The Biloxi outpost on Beach Street carries that same founding philosophy: quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality.

The Steakhouse Standard

At the heart of the menu is USDA prime-aged beef — the top 2% of beef available in the United States. Morton's has worked with the same suppliers since day one, and the standard is uncompromising: if the cut doesn't meet Morton's criteria, it doesn't reach the plate. The steakhouse also extends well beyond beef, offering fresh seafood alongside the prime cuts — think Chilean Sea Bass, Oysters on the Half Shell, Colossal Shrimp, and Red King Crab Legs. Seasonal additions to the menu have included a Prime Bavette Steak Frites, Wagyu Beef Stroganoff, Oysters Rockefeller, and a Lobster & Crab Cocktail, keeping the experience fresh without abandoning the classics.

Wine, Bar Culture, and Private Dining

The Biloxi location holds the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, a recognition that reflects a wine list of more than 300 labels spanning exclusive vintages, sommelier selections, and cult favorites. Private wine lockers are available on-site, and the restaurant's sommelier team is on hand to guide pairings. The Bar 12-21 program rounds out the beverage side with hand-crafted cocktails, imported and local craft brews, and chef-selected bar bites.

For larger occasions, Morton's private dining rooms accommodate business functions, special events, and catered gatherings — the same intimate spaces the brand uses nationally for its Prime Events, including wine dinners and charity evenings with celebrity guests. The atmosphere moves between a lively bar scene and an elegant, quieter dining room, making it equally suited to a casual dinner or a formal celebration.
