Hooked

Ocean-fresh fish flown in daily, sushi, and a slopeside tiki bar in the heart of Beaver Creek's mountain village.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Freshest Fish in the Rockies

Getting genuinely fresh seafood at altitude is a real feat. At Hooked, every fish arrives by plane within 24 hours of being pulled from the ocean — a commitment that shapes everything on the menu and sets this Beaver Creek spot apart from the obvious mountain-town options. Wine Spectator recognized the program with its Award of Excellence, a nod to a kitchen and cellar that take their sourcing seriously.

The Concept

The restaurant grew out of a simple but ambitious vision: bring unique seafood preparations from around the world to a single table in the Colorado mountains. The wood interior of the Beaver Creek location is recycled from timber of the Vail Valley itself, grounding the global menu in its local surroundings. An eclectic team of culinarians works the line, drawing on Japanese technique alongside American classics — the two cuisines that define Hooked's identity.

What to Order

The menu covers serious ground. On the raw side, sliced and seasoned sashimi runs from Ora King salmon with mustard soy and garlic chips to bluefin tuna topped with serranos, shallots, and Tosazu salsa. The Crimpster — crab, shrimp, and lobster wrapped in bacon — has become a signature starter. Whole fish, ordered by market price and prepared head-to-tail either flash-fried or hot and raw, is the showstopper that guests tend to remember long after the bill arrives.

For lunch, the Maine Lobster Roll (tail, claw, and knuckle with butter and lemon on a local roll) and the Poke Bowl with dressed Hawaiian ahi represent the American-Japanese range at its most straightforward. Caviar service — including a blind tasting of three 10g tins — signals that Hooked is comfortable playing at a higher register when the occasion calls for it.

The Tiki Bar

Slopeside and outdoors, the Tiki Bar offers an elevated après experience with high-end cocktails and a focused menu built for relaxed mountain afternoons. Guests consistently single out the Mai Tais. The outdoor terrace overlooks Beaver Creek's ice rink and village plaza, making it one of the more animated spots in the valley once the lifts stop running.

The Room

Inside, the recycled-wood interior keeps things warm without being rustic-kitschy. Outside, the patio faces the village center — active in both winter and summer. Regulars note the energy of the room and a staff that tends to know the menu well enough to guide a full table through it.
