A Clarksville Institution Since 1975

What began as a simple café has become one of Austin's most enduring fine-dining addresses. Partners Ron and Peggy Weiss and Jeff Weinberger opened Jeffrey's in 1975 on a quiet block in the historic Clarksville neighborhood, and the restaurant has held its place in the city's dining consciousness ever since. In 2013, MML Hospitality reimagined and renovated the space, bringing it into a new era without losing the warmth and character that made it legendary in the first place.

The Kitchen and the Table

Under Executive Chef Mark McCain, the menu centers on wood-fired dry-aged steaks, French-American classics, and signature seasonal specialties — a combination that earns the restaurant its reputation for serious, unfussy cooking. The French-American approach means the kitchen draws on classical technique while staying grounded in Texas ingredients and sensibility. The result is a dining room where the food feels both considered and comfortable.

A Wine Program Worth the Recognition

Jeffrey's holds one of the deepest wine lists in the state of Texas — a claim backed by Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence, which the restaurant earned in 2025. That kind of recognition reflects years of careful curation, and the cellar is a genuine destination in itself. Private events can be hosted inside the Napoleon Room, set directly within the award-winning wine cellar, making it one of the more distinctive private dining settings in Austin.

Beyond the main dining room, bar, and lounge, Jeffrey's offers two dedicated private spaces: the Napoleon Room in the wine cellar and The Apartment, a residential-style room above the main floor. The restaurant is also available for full buyouts, and MML Catering & Events Director Andrea Adame oversees full-service catering for off-site events.
