In 1984, Ray Schoenbaum opened Ray's on the River on the banks of the Chattahoochee, and the city took notice immediately. The success of that original waterfront spot gave rise to Ray's in the City, bringing the same commitment to quality American cuisine into the heart of downtown Atlanta on Peachtree Street. What began as a single restaurant became, over time, a small collection of institutions — each distinct in setting, unified in standard.

A Legacy Passed Forward

After nearly forty years, Ray Schoenbaum entrusted the restaurants to a father-and-son team of restaurateurs, who have continued to invest in the experience without abandoning what made it matter.
