A Restaurant Rooted in Its Setting

Longleaf occupies a two-level contemporary glass structure at the heart of the Atlanta Botanical Garden on Piedmont Avenue. The building sits next to Gardenhouse, and its panoramic views of the surrounding grounds have earned it multiple consecutive OpenTable Diners' Choice awards for scenic dining — recognition that speaks to an experience where the setting is as considered as the food itself.

The restaurant holds a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2025, a distinction that reflects a wine program built with genuine care and range — a fitting complement to a kitchen working in the American and French traditions.

The Dining Experience

Longleaf offers full table service for lunch and dinner, with outdoor seating that opens the restaurant directly to the Garden's atmosphere. Inside the same glass structure, the Longleaf Quick Café provides grab-and-go and made-to-order options for guests who prefer something lighter or are moving through the Garden between exhibits and collections.

A second quick-service option, the Magnolia Bistro, sits near the Japanese and Perennial gardens and offers soft drinks, beer, wine, cocktails, and easy snacks — useful to know when planning a longer visit.

One practical note: a timed Garden admission ticket is required before your dining reservation time, and the entire Garden, including Longleaf, operates on a card-only basis.

Garden Beer

An unexpected but genuinely interesting detail of dining here is the Garden Beer program. Since spring 2019, Longleaf has featured exclusive seasonal brews developed in collaboration with Atlanta's Wild Heaven Beer, using ingredients drawn directly from the Garden's own collections — makrut lime leaves from the Fuqua Conservatory, basil from the Edible Garden, and botanicals like tea olive flower, nasturtium, and magnolia. The program is led by the Garden's VP of Horticulture & Collections alongside Wild Heaven's brewmaster, and new releases appear roughly three times a year. It's the kind of detail that makes the American and French cooking here feel genuinely connected to its location rather than incidental to it.
