Founded in 2020, The Artisan set out to bring an authentic Italian fine dining experience to one of Dubai's most prestigious addresses — the Waldorf Astoria in the Dubai International Financial Centre. The ambition was clear from the start: to channel the immaculate standard of hospitality found across Italy, from the bustling streets of Rome to the vast expanses of Tuscany, and translate it faithfully for a discerning Dubai audience.

That commitment has been recognised by some of the industry's most respected voices. Gambero Rosso, Italy's foremost food and wine authority, awarded The Artisan 2 Forks in its 2024 guide — a mark of genuine quality that places the restaurant firmly among the region's best Italian tables. WhatsOn named it Italian Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year 2025, adding to a growing collection of accolades the team continues to build upon.

The Kitchen and the Table

Every dish at The Artisan is shaped by Italy's regional diversity. Recipes draw inspiration from the Sicilian coast and the Tuscan countryside, with ingredients sourced directly from Italy and brought together by what the team describes as a commitment to culinary craftsmanship. The menu moves through fresh antipasti, handmade pastas and pizzas, and on to decadent desserts — each plate conceived as a reflection of Italian culture rather than a mere reproduction of it.

The bar programme follows the same philosophy. Mixologists take classic Italian cocktails — a Spritz, a Negroni — and apply a modern twist without losing the spirit of the original. A curated selection of wines from across the Italian peninsula is overseen by an in-house sommelier, available to guide pairings through the meal.

Atmosphere and Occasions

The dining room breathes an elegant yet modern atmosphere, and on Friday and Saturday evenings, live entertainment adds another dimension to the experience. The venue is also available for exclusive private hire — intimate celebratory dinners, corporate events, product launches — making it a versatile destination beyond its regular service.
