The story
Bigoli is a modern Italian restaurant on Klovsky Descent in Kyiv, built around two clear passions: homemade pasta and an exceptional cellar. Part of the La Famiglia group, it has established itself as one of the city's most consistent destinations for Italian cuisine — from early breakfast through to a full dinner service.
The kitchen's signature is fresh, handmade pasta, but the room holds a few other distinctions worth noting. A dedicated mozzarella bar keeps a rotating selection of fresh Italian cheeses — burrata, di bufala, stracciatella, fumicata, ricotta — alongside a curated array of more than 30 Italian olive oils sourced from different regions of the country. Together these details signal a kitchen that takes its ingredients seriously.
The wine list is where Bigoli has earned its international reputation. For six consecutive years it received the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator, and in 2023 the list was elevated to the publication's Best of Award of Excellence — a recognition that places Bigoli among a select tier of restaurants worldwide. The list spans styles from fresh Prosecco and complex Franciacorta to Trento DOC and Champagne, with particular depth in Super Tuscan bottles: cult labels such as Sassicaia, Paleo, Scrio, Galatrona and Petra feature prominently, and many wines are available by the glass.
The dining room draws a genuinely mixed crowd — families, business lunches, friends meeting after work. In summer, the terrace opens and cocktails are served to the sound of Italian jazz, making it one of the more convivial outdoor spots in the neighbourhood. Private parties are accommodated, and the kitchen runs from breakfast through to late evening, giving Bigoli an unusual versatility for a restaurant of its calibre.
